How It Started

The MOMS Club of Mandarin is a chapter of the International MOMS Club organization. We began in 1999 when a group of stay at home moms decided to form a chapter in Jacksonville. That original chapter has now branched out into many chapters.

The MOMS Club stands for "M"oms "O"ffering "M"oms "S"upport. And that is exactly what we do.

The only national support group just for you: today's at-home mother. A group that understands your choice of at-home mothering. A wonderful way for you to meet other at-home moms and a fun way for your child to meet other at-home children.

The MOMS Club Does...

  • Monthly Socials: We have regularly scheduled monthly socials. These often have activities or topics of interest to both moms and their children.

  • Casual Get-Togethers: We get together in area parks or member's homes.

  • Outings: The club has regular outings to events and fun things in our area. They are usually fun things to share with your children. At some or our past outings we went to the Jacksonville zoo, toured local museums, strolled around a local farm where the kids could feed the animals, bowled some bumper bowling, listened to story times at bookstores and libraries, attended children's plays, and more. We try to have a good mixture of free and inexpensive events.

  • Family Parties: Our past events included a Christmas Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Back to School Party, and a Spring Party.

  • Playgroups: We have playgroups for every age group: infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age. These are a wonderful chance to meet mothers who are going through similar challenges and joys as you. We allow the playgroups themselves to decide the specifics of when and where they meet. But most meet about once a week at rotating homes or at a local park.

  • Activity Groups: We also have activity groups for the mothers like scrapbooking, walking, diet club or reading groups. These change as interest change in our group - check with us to see what groups are active now.

  • Service Projects: We do at least one annual service project which help needy children in our area. Past projects included baby shower for needy new moms, "stuff the bus" school supply drive for needy kids in Jacksonville, book drive for local battered women's shelter, and fund raisers for local kids

Dues

The Mandarin MOMS Club holds our activities during the day, when mothers-at-home need support, and mothers may bring their children with them to our activities.

Because the MOMS Club is for stay-at-home moms who are often making financial sacrifices to stay home with their kids, our dues are only twenty dollars per year.

We are a non-profit organization. Any dues you pay will go towards sending out newsletters to our members, funding parties and events, and buying supplies for the kids. Any money that we have left over at the end of our fiscal year will be donated by our chapter to a local kids charity.

If you are new to the area or just haven't figured out what fun things in Jacksonville you can do with your kids....join us! You will find new friends and new places to go too! For the safety of our children, we do not post specific events, times and locations on our website.

However, please contact our chapter membership person (below) to find out about our next fun event. You can attend up to two events prior to paying any dues. That way you can see if the MOMS Club is a group you would like to join.
